As the team moves across the United States, you can track their progress (and even watch the road for them) on a feature called the iMap Tracker.
You can follow along by going to www.chicagoweathercenter.com/severe/stormchase and clicking on Tom Skilling's flashing car icon on the map. You won't see a flashing car until Skilling starts his storm chase on May 10, but once he gets out there, you'll be able to track his progress for the entire week!
Tom will be out there with a weather-savvy crew, including Jim Reed, a world-renowned still photographer and storm chaser. Jim has seen some epic storms in his 20 years of storm chasing, including Hurricane Katrina and 2004's Hurricane Charley.
His website, www.jimreedphoto.com, includes photos and video of some of his best weather photography. My favorites are the action shots under his editorial section. You can get a feel for how close he really gets to the storm.
