Terry Swails has been a broadcast meteorologist for 32 years. His forecasts have been seen on KWWL-TV in Waterloo, KDUB-TV in Dubuque, and KWQC-TV in Davenport.
He is a published author with his first book, "Superstorms: Extreme Weather in the Heart of the Heartland", debuting in the fall of 2004. He co-authored "Un-Natural Disasters: Iowa's EF5 Tornado and the Historic Floods of 2008" with his wife, Carolyn Wettstone.
He is currently the 6 p.m. and 11:00 a.m. meteorologist for WQAD-TV in Moline Illinois, while also overseeing his own weather forecasting site, terryswails.com, that brings accurate and dependable weather forecasts 24 hours a day seven days a week to his audience.
Terry has been awarded the American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval. In addition he has been voted several times the "Best Forecaster" by the Quad City Times, QC Magazine and the River Cities Reader. In 2006, he was honored with the American Hero Award by the American Red Cross.
